The Boat House is a restaurant in Palm Beach that is extremely popular. The décor of the restaurant is amazing, it is beach themed and it is on a jetty overlooking Pittwater. It has lots of plants, flowers and colourful fruit out the front. On weekends there is often a queue to order, and it can take a while for your order to arrive, but it's worth the wait. I usually order a berry smoothie, mango smoothie or a watermelon juice, they are all so delicious and fresh!!! The Boat House also has FABULUS cakes that look so cute and tasty, the brownies they have a moist and have crunchy nuts, definitely a favourite. It can't be that bad if I just live off their food for my whole life, can it? I don't usually order full meals, but when I do they are filling, healthy, appealing and scrumptious. Their combinations of food are often adventurous, but that is what makes the Boat House unique. I think it is one of the best cafes near Sydney.
Bourke Street Bakery is a nice small bakery, with a cute outdoor area, a table tennis and a really awesome bathroom. To get to the bathroom you have to go through a door and travel along a dimly lit corridor passing kitchens, other restaurants and exits, finally we found the bathroom and it was like a secret underground club, it was black there was a big mirror with light around the edge that changed colour, since that was the only light source it was a bit dark, which added to the club feel; Okay enough talk about where you do your business. The food was nice and warm and the pastries looked adorable, there was a nice selection of food, the pasties were still warm after about 40 minutes. And I quite liked the vegetable pasty mix. My order: Ham and cheese croissant and ice chai. The ham and cheese croissant was the same as everything else, but the ice chai was tasty, it was nice and cold and very sweet, just how I like it. We also got some other pasties as well and I tried the vegetable one.
Nalini's is a modern Indian diner, selling soups, drinks, healthier versions of soft serve ice-cream, masalas and other Indian street food. My favourite order is the classic masala dosa; they give you little pots of sauces and dips, and one big dosa, I like to break of the edges of the dosa and dip them in the sauces and eat it, and then when I get to the centre with the potato curry, I dive in, break off huge chunks and eat them with a little bit of sauce. When I'm done, but there is still some sauce left I get my good old finger and tongue and lick away at the remnants (I am sooo dainty). I definitely suggest going to Nalini's, definitely a great diner.
Personally i love doughnut time, there are so many options and they look so cute. I love the toppings on them and the fillings, however the dough is quite thick and chewy, but i think that is because it has to hold the toppings and the fillings, I would love it if they had fluffier donuts. They are quite pricey, one donut without fillings is $6 and one with fillings is $6.50. I also know that Doughnut Time has shakes and I can not wait to try one, the toppings look amazing, it is like a donut milkshake with delish toppings, isn't that so cool! My favorites are 'Cookie Monster', Ferraro No Share and the Love At First Bite; I only have tried the 'Wake me up before you Vo Vo', 'Ferraro no share', the mint choc one and the 'Cookies Monster', but i have seen loads of reviews on the Nutella one, it looks really good and i love Nutella. I give Doughnut Time 4/5 stars.
On the weekend I went to Westfield and I had lunch at a place calles Pasta e Sugo, it looked very cute and very modern with bright yellow signs, marble tables and a huge variety of options, however it wasn't very good. Our order: Lasagne, gnocchi and fettuccine pasta. There was a lack of staff, the food was expensive, it was only per-prepared pasta heated up in a microwave, we hadn't been told that it was an extra $3 for every meal eating in, the servings were small, they said that my food was ready in 2 minutes, it came 6 minutes later. The food wasn't even that good. I wasn't impressed by the meals, the service, or the price.
