This is an eye look and tutorial using only the Chi Chi Smokeys 2 palette. This is going to be a smokey and sharp look in ten easy to follow steps.
Add a small amount of sticky tape to the edge of your eye on an angle to create a sharp eye look.
Cover your eyelids with the first colour on the right for a base, using a flat shade brush.
Using the forth colour from the right, blend the shadow into your crease and outer v, using a tapered brush.
Increase the intensity of the colour in the outer v using the colour fourth from the left. Use a tapered brush.
Add more colour to the outer v with the colour fifth from the left. Use a tapered brush.
Add shimmer to the inner corner and the middle of the eyelid using the colour second from the right. Use a wet flat shade brush and a wet gel eyeliner brush for maximum coverage.
Peel off the sticky tape, if there is any excess cover it with concealer.
Smoke out the under edge of your eye with the colour third from the left. Use a gel eyeliner brush.
Blend the under eye shimmer into the smokey shade. Use a gel eyeliner brush
Add mascara, false lashes or glitter as you desire.
As it is Winter in Australia I am adding more and more things to my makeup collection because I am less likely to sweat it all off.
Anastasia Brow Definer- we all know Anastasia Beverly Hills is the Beyonce of eyebrows, so when I picked this up at Sephora for $49 I was okay with the price. When I tested it out though it was chalky and you have to press down hard on it. It was very difficult to use and it left a patchy and very bold finish, not the desired look. CRY
NYX HD finishing powder- I should have known that cheap baking powders would leave me with horrendous flashback, and when using it you can't breathe because you are suffocating in powder. It was chalky and you had to buff it to the point where you could barely see it so you wouldn't look like Katy Perry in the intro scene of Bon Appetit. Not worth $20. CRY
Sportsgirl On The Glow highlighting Mermazing palette- I don't know about you but I want to be glowing so I can be a Goddess, thankfully I am now one thanks to this palette. There are four shades, one gold which isn't that blinding, a blue that is like chalky eyeshadow, a blue reflective silver which makes me live and a purple reflective silver which I could bathe in all day. It is extremely inexpensive-$15- and the packaging is iridescent and holographic, yay!! BYE
Sportsgirl roll on eyeshadow- this was a pretty cheap product, $4, plain black text with clear plastic. I was very disappointed, the roller got stuck frequently, it wasn't pigmented and the glitter had loads of excess fall out. I would spend the money elsewhere. CRY
Not a great month of makeup products on my hand, maybe I'll be more successful later on in the year. LUV YA- ZaZa Squidge
I have bought Pocketbacs off 'eBay' before but when I was going to Western Australia I went to Terminal 2 and there was a Bath and Body Works shop there. It was small and there was only 1 person in there, the assistant. It was hella expensive, but the price range was similar to other stores, the shower gels were roughly about the price of the Lush ones, and the sprays were $8 cheaper than the Victoria's Secret ones and they had more product. There was a deal for three travel size items. I bought 2 shower gels and a spray for $25.
- Endless Weekend shower gel- smelled like sweet, musky and crisp apples
- A Thousand Wishes shower gel- bit more feminine, smelled like candy and flowers
- Tahitian Island Dream Spray- Fresh, crisp and sweet. Very summery
The Pocketbacs that I bought off 'eBay' were about $4.50 each including $12 shipping split between 8 of them. I thought I had bought 10 but I had only bought 8.
- Oh Snap- new packaging- sweet ginger cookie scent
- Ginger Snap- old packaging- very similar to 'Oh Snap' but more spicy and less sweet
- South Pacific Sunrise- Old packaging- sweet, coconutty and summery, sort of like a candle
- Red Velvet Cheer- New packaging- Sweet orange, like a Jaffa Cake
- Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte- very sweet and like a spiced marshmallow cake
- Crisp Morning Air- Smells like apples, sort of like the 'Endless Weekend' shower gel
- Marshmallow Mittens- doesn't really have much scent but it is musky and sweet
- Cocoa Mint- Like peppermint but with musky sweet notes
Remember to keep on Squidging!- Zaza
A couple of weeks ago I bought some (*cough* a lot *cough*) makeup with my friends, I love and use all of the products I bought. We spent over $150 (HALP). *DISCLAIMER* I love makeup not to cover up blemishes but to show off art and talent. The brands that we bought from were Colourpop, Jeffree Star and Makeup Revolution.
"Virginity" velour liquid lip Jeffree Star:
Light pastel purple, pink colour. Very creamy and not drying at all, however it easily smudges and it can get a lot of excess coming of it. Makes your teeth look a little yellow but since it is a purple lipstick it would do that. But still a gorgeous colour.
"Nude Beach" velour liquid lip Jeffree Star:
Light orange, yellow colour. Bit streaky, creamy and very lightweight, it easily smudges and can get balls of lipstick coming off it. Makes your teeth look a bit yellow (not sure why). But still a nice lipstick.
"LAX" ultra matte liquid lip Colourpop:
Gorgeous deep, vampy red liquid lipstick. Very drying and stiff applicator, however it still looks great on the lips. Great affordable price and just a really lovely lipstick.
"Embellish" ultra matte liquid lip Colourpop:
Very dark brown, almost black, dupe for Jeffree Star's Dominatrix velour liquid lipstick. If you make a mistake it is very visible. Very drying lipstick, and cracks when on your lips but still a very trendy and nice lipstick for a great price.
"Stole The Show" highlighter Colourpop:
Very glittery highlighter, not really a glowing highlighter. It is still a really pretty plain white/silver strobe highlighter. Very creamy, so it applies easily with fingers but not brushes. Great price and great product.
"Do Not Disturb" highlighter Colourpop:
I prefer this one to 'Stole The Show' because it glows more. Deep bronze, dupe for Jeffree Star's 'King Tut' highlighter. It can also be used as a bronzer or eye shadow. Very creamy product, picks up well on a brush however you get the best amount with your finger.
"Chocolate Vice" eye shadow palette Makeup Forever:
Makeup Forever makes dupes for the Too Faced eye shadow palettes, however this palette was not a dupe. It has gorgeous colours but really bad colour payoff, the colours easily come of and you have to get a lot on the brush to get colour on your eyelids. It smells like plastic but that is only because of the packaging, I'm pretty sure there is a caramel-chocolate scent, however I can't smell it quite strongly. But it is a cheap palette, so you're getting what you pay for.
Hope these reviews will help you in the future!
I love matte lipsticks, not because I want to look like a mini Kylie Jenner, but because they look really good on my lips. I love darker coloured matte lips, with a bit of pinky-purple hue, but mainly dark brown. Here are some of my favourites:
Hot Chocolate matte lip from Sportsgirl: http://www.sportsgirl.com.au/beauty/lips/pout-about-it-hot-chocolate-matte-light-brown-all
It is a dark brown matte lip, however it is not a liquid lipstick, it is just a plain lipstick☹ Sportsgirl has a huge variety of shades and types of lipsticks
Vertigo lipstick from Sportsgirl: http://www.sportsgirl.com.au/beauty/lips/pout-about-it-vertigo-lipstick-brown-all
Vertigo isn't a matte lip, however, since it is a lipstick not a liquid lipstick, it comes out pretty matte anyway. The colour is more grey-brown, which looks good on anyone
Kylie Jenner Dolce K lip kit: https://www.kyliecosmetics.com/collections/frontpage/products/dolcek-lip-kit
This wouldn't be a list of matte lip without Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie basically made the popularity around matte lips. I love the Dolce K colour because it is golden and browny, making it a great lip for anyone with a tan (SCORE!)
Those are most of my favs, sorry about it being a short post, I've got exams on so I my schedule is crammed.
My makeup brush set is an online store that sells products from other sites for cheap. Even though I don't wear makeup in public, I like to test and play around with different styles, themes and colours. I like to think of my face being a plain canvas, I put colour on my face, create a story, think of where it will be used and why and think of other cool themed for makeup design. The main things that I want to buy on My Makeup Brush Set is a blending sponge, a hair straightener and a liquid eyeliner. I like this site because it has variety, but not too much variety that you can't decide what you want.
